Faith …

… Solitary Praxis: Ralph Waldo Emerson, Trust, the Creator, and Confusion.


As it says in the epistle to the Hebrews, "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." Which may be why, in the same epistle, we are told, "It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God." Of course, as D. H. Lawrence rejoined, "But it is an even more fearful thing to fall out of them."
