… First Known When Lost: "The Sea Of Life".
This reminded of how much I liked Arnold's poetry when I first encountered it. I must take some time to renew my acquaintance.
This also reminded me of Ralph Vaughan Williams's An Oxford Elegy, which uses parts of Arnold's "Thyrsis" and "The Scholar Gypsy" and is one of those rare pieces where music and narrative really work well together. (Post bumped.)
