Not forgotten …

… First Known When Lost: A Life.

I do not think Chambers's poem is at all sentimental, though Stephen and I seem to understand the term differently. I see the poem as an expression of deep and authentic sentiment. I understand sentimentality as fake sentiment. A quibble merely. The poem is lovely and moving. I also completely agree with Stephen's precept: "It is the individual poem that matters, not the poet."
