Having read four Bradbury novels, Stepping Westward, Rates of Exchange, Eating People is Wrong, and The History Man, I would say that at least the first three suggest that he is much more comfortable with suggestions than with commandments.
Interesting. When I saw the quote I wasn't sure if he thought that a good idea or not.
