Karl Ove Knausgaard

Acclaim and critique continues for Knausgaard...

"There was something extraordinary about the experience of reading My Struggle. I was absorbed. Transfixed. I identified. I suffered. I struggled alongside Karl Ove. But why did I find this particular novel so mesmerizing?"

  1. Thanks for sharing this, Jesse. I agree with most of what the author says, except the part towards the end where he says that world creation in novels is looked down upon by critics. I am not sure that's the case. Most good novels--by which I mean critically well-received works--are appreciated precisely for their ability to create a world and, even better, their own language.
