I seem to recall that Ludwig Wittgenstein points out somewhere that the Gospel accounts of the Resurrection, like most eyewitness accounts, are characterized by inconsistencies and contradictions. A friend of mine, who has taught law courses on how to evaluate eyewitness testimony, has noted the same. It is also worth wondering how a religion that has as its central tenets a man rising from the dead and salvation coming from eating his flesh and blood should have so swiftly gained widespread acceptance. Obviously, the mindset of people at that time was different from what prevails nowadays. None of which proves anything one way or the other. Which is why we have faith.
