Hmm …

 Why Movies are Prayers | The Russell Kirk Center. (Hat tip, Dave Lull.)

I spent a lot of time, when I was 3, in a movie theater, because my grandmother was the cleaning lady. I still like being at a movie by myself. And i will always regard certain films — notably Ingmar Bergman’s  Winter Light — as crucial to my spiritual development. I also attended a Jesuit college. But to regard movies as in themselves a form of prayer seems to me a stretch, to say the least.
