I think some literature may cause neurosis in its practitioners, the kind that calls upon you to constantly probe yourself, your ideas and your thoughts. So, the idea that literature is an ideal worth aspiring to may be a paradox because while it can bring untold riches to its recipients, it may not always be salubrious to its creators.
