These magazines used to be entertaining and fun and appeal to a variety of women, now they are all about politics and, frankly, boring even to those who agree with them. And these magazines' main feat seems to have been that they gave highflying media careers to female journalists who served as foot soldiers for the left. Why are they entitled to such privilege?

ReplyDeleteIs this a matter of veterans' preference, with the female journalists having returned from the wars, or does the career come first and the soldiering second?
I didn't read these magazines. But I know that Florence King, who was not at all left, did write for Cosmopolitan.
Florence King wrote for Cosmopolitan thirty or so years ago, “. . . churning out articles like ‘Your First Night with a New Man’ while religiously following their tip sheets (how to offer him a new toothbrush without seeming like the kind of girl who keeps new toothbrushes on hand).”
