Hmm …

… The American Scholar: February: A Sonnet - Henry Allen. (Hat tip, Dave Lull.)



I always think of February as the very heart of winter. In these parts winter usually takes awhile to get going and isn't really up to speed until the latter part of January. By the time February arrives, winter has settled in. Which has little to do with the poem, which is pretty neat.
