Of age and shrubbery …

… Anecdotal Evidence: 'Well! It Is Always Good to Be Undeceived'
I was in my 30s when my barber at the time warned me that my beard would go gray first. And it did. But, taking my cue from a friend who had advised her balding boyfriend to be aggressively bald, I decided I would be aggressively gray. Of course, my beard now is quite white. My hair hasn't quite caught up and is still just gray.

  1. I'm nearly 45 and I've been delighted by this whole business of slight gray tinges growing into my beard at this stage in life. Which usually happens when I get so busy that I end up growing a week or two of stubble. What I did not anticipate, however, was the "silver fox" thing that arrived with this follicular development. Apparently, I am one of those aging gents who women increasingly seem to like. Or who knows? Maybe I'm just getting more mellow and confident. What I do know is that this started happening the MINUTE I went a little gray. I figure I have perhaps a few modest years of this before the bloom eventually fades for good! But I look upon all aspects of aging as weird surprises to laugh over -- even those moments when your body plummets into exhaustion after pushing yourself hard in ways that were inconceivable only five years before! :)
