This study was not scientifically done. It is so incomplete, it is worse than putting out a legitimate clinical trial as an end-all scientific finding.
ReplyDeleteThere was no random sample of funeral directors who were surveyed to see how many thought that by whatever degree and reason, death certificates were falsified with Covid-19. It was a call for funeral directors to blow the whistle. That's completely different.
Doing a legitimate survey, scientifically approached and scientifically reported, could lead to finding out where Covid-19 death certificate reporting has been lax, misunderstood, or even forged, thus a real "whistleblower" study. It could also reveal bias on the part of funeral directors. We see one case in the report where lo and behold, the certificate was changed.
That reported Alzheimer patient who did not have Covid-19 brings up the other side of the virus besides a miscount. I was in a conversation where another flatliner revealed herself. We both had heart attacks and died from them. In my case, I questioned whether I would have gone to the hospital that night. If such a pandemic were ongoing in December 2003, I would have stayed away from the hospital and not tried to get something for the pain in my shoulder in order to go to work the next day. What would we call this, "collateral" deaths? There's also "collateral" lives saved, by people staying off the roads. Go figure. Let's try.
We also know that many people are dying from the virus, at home, deaths not correctly attributed to Covid-19. This has been estimated to be far more than incorrect attribution, but let's open that question for the sake of this "whistleblower" argument.
How can we check the numbers like accountants would? -- not that we'll ever know or could ever know the precise count of dead. We know that the funeral homes are being overloaded and more than ever expected, dead bodies piling up in odd storage places. There are and will be data coming out about how many total people died in this time period. This can be compared to expected deaths. The difference, then, needs to be explained. This difference can then be compared to the Covid-19 tally. That's when the real scientific investigation tracks down any culprits. This report is simply a casual living room of suspicion conversation, and slant to keep in mind at work, not that it holds water, but what is it sifting out?
Funeral directors see an awful lot more dead bodies than most of us: but are they qualified as coroners?
