... If you're thinking - as I have been - of switching to New Blogger, you may want to read about Ann Althouse's experience with same. I clicked on the permalinks at Ann's blog, but couldn't connect. I think I'll wait a bit myself.
I think it is all a bit hysterical. You can't work out from her post exactly what she's so upset about. Lots of people use new blogger (aka blogger beta) without these problems. New blogger has advantages, eg you can categorise posts and customise your design. I think that Althouse may be having a reflex vent. I'd be happy to advise anyone who is having problems. My only gripe with blogger is that if you don't have a Blogger blog the commenting is a bit of a pain as you have to indentify yourself at each comment on a Blogger blog. But really, I think this woman basically needs to calm down and read the instructions. The web is a technical medium and I know Google's help is frustrating, but even so, it should not be that much of a problem. It is free, after all, so it is a bit like looking a gift horse in the mouth, surely?
LOL...you won't get an option. i had to switch the other day...by had, I mean...it wouldn't let me in till I switched...LOL!
ReplyDeleteSo far, so good. I haven't experienced any of the myriad of problems that I've heard about, and I rather like a lot of the new features.
One thing you'll like, is that when you get an email notice of a comment to a post...it tells you what post the comment is on! That i like!
I tried to connect to the Permalink also, to no avail...but that's instapundit.com ...not a "blogger" site that I can't get into!
