I heard Dr. D on the radio this morning -- what an obnoxious twit! I read his first book twenty years ago and found it interesting (he was still thinking like a scientist), but hadn't paid him much attention since. After enduring his screeching histrionics for about fifteen minutes, I began to believe that he had misplaced his mind.
I've begun to have the same feeling, Jeff. I have had it for some time about another Dr. D. - Daniel Dennett, whose recent writings suggest he is falling victim to thought disorder.

ReplyDeleteIndeed. The same steady drift into megalomania, the occupational disease of system-builders.
