Dance Me To The End Of Love

Leonard Cohen based this unforgettable song on a pic he saw of musicians playing their violins in their striped pyjamas while their inmates made their way to the ovens at Auschwitz (only to be replaced by other musicians once those playing were forced to follow in their footsteps). Now, as The Toronto Star via the Associated Press reports, a number of those (lovingly restored) violins did, indeed, survive the Holocaust:

The Beauty from the Horror: Sixteen restored instruments found after World War II get to play together with two orchestras in Israel.
