You sly bugger, you! You know he's numero-uno in all my books; whatever you say and think and feel is brilliant; you're a genius; I just wanna stand in the great rays of your awesome sun :), Frank One. (And, thank you, two.) There ain't a thing you can't say or think that isn't a hunnert-percent true-and-glorious blue! You are YOU!

  2. I just received in the mail, from England, a copy of The Sleeping Lord. Perhaps in my old age I shall return to my early modernist tendencies.

  3. Oh, it's glorious, it is truly glorious. (I tend towards The Anathemata myself; but, TSL is also a work of divine inspiration. Eliot, you know, (prolly), called JOnes the true genius of their generation and, given the fact Eliot went to Pound for editing (although he did trump publishing Jones), I gotta agree with Ol' Possum on that one.

Wanna know an amazing fact, one you'll not find in any biography official nor unofficial (but one which Jones's official biographer confirmed for me since we are close friends)?

    Sitting down?

    Get ready for this:

    David Jones died a virgin.

p.s. Now, I know what to give you for your b-day, TA, among other things in my belated prezzie pkg when I do my mailing next week, Ta!
p.p.s. Old age? Pfft! You're still a kid till you hit ninety-nine!
p.p.p.s. My editor is not a happy puppy right now, what with the way I'm playin' hooky!
p.p.p.p.s. I reserve the write to use howlers in blog postings!!!
