Beauty at noon ...

... More Than Mere Exercises. (Hat tip, Dave Lull.)

It's not one of the etudes, but it is one of the musical gems of all time:

... Gieseking playing Chopin's Berceuse in D-flat.

This is an outstandiug version of this piece, though Ashkenazy's is very good also. Helene Grimaud's version (below) may actually be better, but the video cuts off in the middle. (A gay friend of mine, who knows Helene, told me she brings out the heterosexual in him; I, of course, don't need that brought out, so I certainly understand what he means).
