Poetry and lyrics ...

... Bob Dylan and Billy Collins.

I can still remember Steve Allen's dramatic reading of

Be bop a Lula
She's my baby
Be bop a Lula
I don't mean maybe
Be bop a Lula
She's my baby doll
My baby doll
My baby doll

  1. Be bop a Lula, Pops
I think that says it all

    :)

p.s. Rus Bowden really iced this cake, IMO; he took the high road, the only one to take . . .

  2. Has Dylan written anything to match Brel's
    Moi je t'offrirai
    Des perles de pluie
    Venues de pays
    Où il ne pleut pas

    I wonder?

  3. Not as far as I can remember (and, I remember from the beginning); as well, even those four lines you quote, but a tiny sampling indeedly, provide the "inspiration" or scaffolding supporting some absolutely stunning works of art by such as, say, David Graux (b. 1970), par example.

Perhaps Levi might better respond to your idle wonderment? IMO, though? Short answer?

    Non, non, non, non, non.
