Jack Batten's Always on Track

Great Detective, World-Class Mope:
For brave readers attempting to track the chronology of Inspector Kurt Wallander's professional triumphs and personal screw-ups, a key date is 8 January 1990. It was at 5:13 AM on that winter day when a phone call sent Wallander of the Ystad Police into the first of the masterful series of police procedurals by the Swedish novelist Henning Mankell.

Batten simply gets better 'n' better at telling it like it was and wasn't :). The Pyramid just jumped sky-high on *my* TBR list!
