Here is a coincidence: Just yesterday I went to the library and checked out a copy of Chesterton's ORTHODOXY which I began reading yesterday evening. I confess that I am entertained by the author's style but my "jury is still out" with respect to the presentation of his thesis. Perhaps my concurrent reading of Fr. Thomas Merton's THE SEVEN STOREY MOUNTAIN is getting in the way of my Chesterton experience. Will ORTHODOXY be as compelling as Merton's spiritual autobiography? Time will tell.
