I knew ...

... that if I waited long enough, a political climate would emerge that reflects what I have always felt. I think it's happening: On Contemplating a Just and Charitable War.

The problem has long been our largely parasitic political class, and the equally parasitic pundits and scholars who have so long enabled them - and bent over backwards to sucker the public.

  1. I am far from being a Thomas Paine, but I do plead for common sense to prevail . . . even it requires a "just and charitable war" in some form or another. Will common sense put a stop to the insanity? Time will tell.

  2. CORRECTION TO PREVIOUS COMMENT:
Of course, I meant to say it grammatically correctly by saying " . . . even if it requires a 'just and charitable war' in some form." And as an addendum I would say that the substance of the issue may be different but I feel like the character in the movie "Network" who yelled, "I'm mad as hell, and I'm not going to take it any more." There is, you will note, a growing chorus of similar voices. It is either frightening or exhilarating (or both), but something is happening.

  3. Ah, the great Howard Beale. And yes, the chorus is growing, and something is happening, though a good many in government and the media don't know what it is (to borrow a bit from Bib Dylan).
