Amazing. Some of my favorite authors are old, dead, white males - some borderline or overt bigots.
and I'm a young, Black woman... so there's no local *book club* of peers with whom I can share my love (which is why I find myself so often on literary blogs). =(
I can forgive almost any perceived character flaws or personal defects on the part of the author if his work is written beautifully. The art of writing is a drug.
