  1. After posting the Wordsworth lyric, I began searching around my neighborhood for daffodils. Alas, none were found here on the shores of the Gulf of Mexico. Perhaps my neck-of-the-woods is unsuited to daffodils, though I clearly remember them well from my earlier days in the snowbelt of the northeast. Well, at least I have Wordsworth's recollection of the flowers that he encountered during his walk with his sister Dorothy in England's Lake Country. And I think I thoroughly understand his melancholy memory of those flowers.(Postscript: I'm glad you also enjoyed the Wordsorth moment.)
