When I was twelve, I played Little Patrick in a dinner theater production of Mame, and in my first scene I got to make a martini for the child welfare agent who had come to check up on Mame's parenting. My dialogue included an explanation of the necessity of stirring rather than shaking in order to avoid bruising.
As an adult, however, I'm a shaker: the act of shaking a martini is so pleasant, and the resulting cloudy, chilly concoction is lovely.
