Thanks to people like Freud and D.H. Lawrence, a good many people feel a need to impose upon sex a weight of significance it cannot reasonably bear.

Good note, Frank. It's the emotions that bear the weight, they just tend to be embodied in the sex. But, Lord, I hate to read graphic sex scenes or -- worse -- see them on movie screens.
