  1. I liked this article because it makes several of the points I've often tried to make in the debate around climate change. The geological perspective is one most of the pundits either ignore or don't seem to comprehend. I wish everyone would read this article.

    But the geological perspective can definitely help us figure out what to do. The evidence of warming is not really in doubt—the glaciers are melting, after all—and we can argue about how much of the change is due to human intervention, but there IS change, period. Of course the argument about how much human intervention is the cause leads to the moral question of how humans are supposed to deal with it. But really, the moral question doesn't matter, and blame isn't necessarily going to help us find a solution to the problem.
