Worth remembering ...

... Barbara W. Tuchman - The Proud Tower, A Portrait of the World Before the War: 1890 - 1914.

Tuchman's A Distant Mirror: The Calamitous 14th Century is perhaps the only great book I could not finish reading. At the time, I just found it too depressing to continue -- and I was nearly at the end. People who fear global warming should read it to see what the onset of an ice age is like.
