Papa's place ...

... Ernest Hemingway's Key West Home.

  1. I was there a couple of years ago. It's truly a wonderful place to visit. I had a great talk with the lady running the gift store, once she found out I was from Michigan, and had summered in some of the same places as Hemingway.

It was also really cool to realize that I have, in my collection of vintage portable typewriters, the same model as is set up in his workroom on the table.

It was a great visit, and I recommend it, for anyone who's ever in Key West.

  2. Visited the home in May 2010. Loved the atmosphere, sitting in the garden, walking around the pool, the cats, the room where he wrote, the architecture of the hurricane proof house on a "hill," the sense of it all. It's the best thing in Key West, if you like Hemingway, that is.
