These Israeli athletes, who were Jewish (so please don’t recycle the conventional buttock-clenching bilge that criticism of Israel isn’t antisemitism, to let yourself off the hook, because it’s just not true) were Olympians, and deserve commemoration, loudly, and in the Olympic Stadium, before people of all nations, whether or not that makes people uncomfortable, and if it does, so much the better. The lives of Jews are plainly devalued to such an extent that their remembrance might occasion – wait for it - embarrassment.
