  1. I always think of Trollope as the classic case, though now I think of it Charles Bukowski worked for the US Post Office. And Edward Arlington Robinson worked for the Customs--that seems to me to give Customs something of a lead over the Post Office, particularly once you add Hawthorne to the scale.
