Ah, but you do, Bryan …

… Bryan Appleyard — Malcolm Gladwell: I Don’t Get It. (Hat tip, Dave Lull.)

… in the first chapter he tells the story of David and Goliath and then concludes by saying ‘almost everything about it is wrong’. But he does not then show it is wrong, he simply shows it in a different light. He also writes about education, arguing that it is a myth that small class sizes are necessarily a virtue. He then jeers at a private school called Hotchkiss in Connecticut for advertising small classes. One would expect him to justify this by giving some figures about Hotchkiss results, but he does not.
