I don't mean about not reading his books, but his point about performance-enhancing drugs. After all, the drugs are only one component. They give a genuine, exceptionally talented, highly trained person like Lance Armstrong an edge. They might even improve my performance, moving me a notch up among the also-rans. But Gladwell' argument founders on the fact that what impresses about an athlete is how well he does simply with the tools nature has provided. Sports are a measure of strictly natural achievement.
