Wow. I have a house full of books, but am on pause from all of them because I am in the midst of devouring a series of guilty pleasures: the novels of Daniel Silva (most 7.99 apiece from Amazon.) In the past three weeks I've gone through five of his books, all starring an Israeli secret agent named Gabriel Allon, and some compare his books to LeCarre. I don't know about that. All I know is that dinner has been made and the family fed, the dishes away and work is done, and I can buy, but can't read, another one of his books because I am waiting for my Kindle to recharge.
There is some wisdom somewhere to be found here. An ancient art and practice unable to be exercised because of the failure of modern technology. Sigh.
