To each his own …

Well, sort of. Catholics do not believe that God predestines anyone for Hell. Damnation is a consequence of rejecting God's predestined grace. As Peter says in his second epistle, "the Lord … not wishing that any should perish, but that each should reach repentance."

I do agree that Edwards deserves to be known for more than his hell fire semon and that he was a very good writer and thinker.
