Just a thought …

Prayer would seem to be the only authentic response to a sense of divine presence. The only one you can really talk to about God is God. 
Still, a faith tradition, with its customs, rituals, and formulae, images and symbols, can prove useful in providing a vocabulary and syntax for raising the mind and heart to God. Rosary, prayer wheel, Buddhist chant — all help clear the mind of distractions and leave it open to religious encounter.
