Whirlwind Magazine welcomes you to join us for our fourth issue launch party on Sunday, May 17th at 8pm. Our Spring edition features works depicting war viewed through the eyes of veterans and civilians alike. Through this issue, we hope to fight for awareness and treatment of mental illness, especially for veterans, all the while striving for non-violence and mutual co-operation in order to solve humanity’s problems.
We have Vietnam veteran Preston Hood to thank for the inspiration of having this special issue of Whirlwind, and he will be the headline reader at this event. Other readers include veterans of Vietnam and Iraq who are featured in Whirlwind Issue #4. This launch party will be co-sponsored by Larry Robin of Moonstone Arts Center, and hosted by Robert Zell. The event is free and open to the public, although it is 21+ only. Copies of the magazine will be available for sale as well as books from the featured readers. An open mic will follow the reading.
