What about Randall Jarrell's Pictures From an Institution or Conrad Aiken's Ushant? James Dickey's Deliverance seems to have been well thought of. Then there's H. D.'s Bid Me to Live and Elizabeth Smart's By Grand Central Station I Sat Down and Wept.

  1. One could go on and on. Robert Penn Warren and Victor (Helas!) Hugo wrote novels and poetry in quantity. Alan Tate wrote at least one novel. Melville and Nabokov wrote poetry...
