  2. He had a TV show, made in San Francisco, I think, that our local public TV station broadcast. He was an outstanding lecturer.

    I was one of Watts' student hosts when he lectured at my university in 1971. Having read all of his books, I was excited about spending time with him. Unfortunately, I had to endure a very long day with a rather testy and unfriendly chain-smoker whose main interest was finding a place to get a drink.
