When I was in college, you didn't come upon Denise Levertov or Gregory Corso in class. You read them on your own. That was the fun of it. Of course, Levertov and Corso and the like were quite familiar with the great tradition of English poetry. That's how they came to write their own. The student petitioners at Yale are twits and the university operatives who took them seriously are twits as well.
