... and on the other: Fired up over nothing.
If memory serves, things like "Piss Christ' and the elephant-dung Madonna prompted no riots or deaths. Had such occurred, I doubt there would have been many columns deploring Christophobia.
Terry Jones (the Florida minister, not the Monty Python member) is of course an obnoxious crank and ought really to be ignored.
And we return to why the book was burned in the first place. Because murderous idiots allied with sociopaths are going around beheading innocent people in its name. If they are not so stupid to think that Allah wanted them to kill the UN workers, then they are conniving in their psychopathology to use the book to justify murderous rampages. I'd like to see each one of them found out and tried for murder.
ReplyDeleteThere is no sense blaming the pastor Terry Jones who did the book burning. He may be politically and theologically stupid and naive, but he did not kill any one. But he is guilty of the same idiocy as the ones who killed for the Koran. Without looking, I'll bet he burned for the Bible.
This line of thinking has to stop. We need to stop blaming scripture and God for all the stupid murders that take place in God's name. To continue the blame is to buy into the same senselessness.
Amen, brother. It is amazing how many self-styled religious people routinely create God in their own worst image.
