PUBLICIST ANGELA BAGGETTA LAUNCHES
NEW PUBLIC RELATIONS COMPANY
May 1, 2017 (New York City)--Angela Baggetta, a public relations professional with nearly two decades of experience in book publishing, has founded Angela Baggetta Communications. The company will work with “authors, thinkers, and doers” on targeted, personalized publicity and marketing campaigns.
Baggetta is currently Managing Director at Goldberg McDuffie Communications, where she has worked for 14 years. She will serve in that role until May 31, and work with the firm after that date on particular projects under the GMC brand.
Over the course of her career, Baggetta’s work has encompassed a variety of subjects within the category of serious nonfiction, from politics, economics, and business books, to lifestyle, memoir, and design titles. Some of the bestselling and notable books on which her work was instrumental include Strangers in Their Own Land by Arlie Russell Hochschild, The Hard Thing About Hard Thingsby Ben Horowitz, I’ll Drink to That by Betty Halbreich, The Price of Inequality by Joseph E. Stiglitz, All the Devils are Here by Joe Nocera and Bethany McLean, The Death and Life of the Great American School System by Diane Ravitch, Nudge by Richard Thaler and Cass Sunstein, and How Doctors Think by Jerome Groopman, MD. Among the other authors with whom Baggetta has worked are U.S. Senator Sheldon Whitehouse, U.S. Senator Olympia Snowe, Google’s Eric Schmidt, historian Garry Wills, philosopher Peter Singer, public intellectual Henry Louis Gates, polling expert Mark Penn, economist Simon Johnson, conman-turned-security-expert Frank Abagnale, jazz guitarist John Pizzarelli, and the late Christopher Hitchens. She has also worked on projects for the charity Covenant House.
Angela Baggetta Communications will focus on select projects in book publishing and the nonprofit world in order to deliver strong results on tailored public relations and marketing campaigns. In working closely with clients to identify their target audience, how to reach them, and what stories would be most compelling to tell, Baggetta will draw on her background as a former journalist as well as her years of PR experience. Her extensive contacts in the national news media; connections at think tanks, arts venues, and bookstores across the United States; and longstanding relationships with staff at all the major publishers ensure that each campaign will be strategic, coordinated, and highly effective.
“I’m delighted about Angela’s next step in her career,” said Lynn Goldberg. “Her excellent work at GMC over the years has been an integral part of our success and a source of pride to me, and I look forward to the continuation of our professional and personal relationship.”
