There's a whole list of suggestions in their comments now. They mainly seem to be people nominating themselves. Grumpy Old Bookman and the other Mike Allen feature. There are also some patently silly suggestions, like Irvine Welsh. There are thousands of authors (if not millions) less influential than him -- i.e. authors who can't get published (or make TV programmes or get pieces of journalism published in the UK national newspapers....you get the picture).
