I am not inclined to "rationalize away" any of Eliot's "pernicious prejudice," but I do think it worth noting that, in both poems cited, the speaker cannot necessarily be taken to represent Eliot himself.
I followed up on your comment at that site. Obviously the author is sophomoric towards Eliot's legacy, repeating a tired old chestnut of handed-down opinion. But I tried to be nice!
