Yup, I'm totally with Teachout on this one. I hate overtly political plays, doubtless why I have a love/hate relationship with the work of David Hare. Luckily, one can usually tell which plays of his are going to be that type ("Stuff Happens," "Via Dolorosa") and avoid them. The others are masterful and far better at passing on his ideology because it (the i.) is cunningly concealed in a *good* story. Ergo, I can't wait to see "The Vertical Hour" next month on B'way.
