Calling Harry Potter fans ...

... it seems that in Britain, Jim Dale isn't known as the voice of Harry Potter. Stephen Fry is. Has anyone heard the Fry audiobooks? Has anyone heard both Dale and Fry? And would you like to share your thoughts? If so, email my colleague Sandy Bauers at sbauers@phillynews.com. And feel free to post here as well, of course.

Stephen Fry is a superb reader of Harry Potter. His audio interpretations are simply wonderful.
I am sure Jim Dale is a fine reader. He is English, of course -- I remember seeing him in the "Carry On" films when a girl. But I simply can't imagine anyone other than Stephen Fry reading Harry Potter. I have not heard the audio of book 7 but have enjoyed all the rest. And as a rule, I do not like audiobooks. But many a long car journey has been made bearable by Fry's insightful and sympathetic reading.
