Just read...
....this brutal (that's a compliment, the way I use it) little short story by the New Zealand writer Janet Frame in a recent issue of The New Yorker. Frame published a lot of work during her lifetime but this was found after she died in 2004. It's worth reading. Her images and metaphors are strong, and so original.
