One of the thrills in life is to encounter another person who shares an enthusiasm. Thanks to the internet, I have come to know people I regard as friends who share my love of Dutch still-lifes, Kay Ryan's poetry, Le grand Meaulnes, Lev Shestov ... the list could go on and on.
