Unfortunately in the UK we don't have the option. Mind you, I won't be buying a Sony reader (or an Iliad) yet. First I want see how they are received and get the chance to see one in action. Then, maybe - I can see that e-readers might be useful under some circumstances, eg when travelling.
I think you're right, Maxine, at least so far. The value for traveling - and commuting - is indisputable: You can take along a library that weighs 10 ounces. It's also useful for getting books you don't want to pay the full price for, probably wouldn't keep, but may want to read at least a bit of.
