I've already been hearing reactions against some of his late stuff, when he ironically boasted that he could sign a paper napkin and sell it for thousands of dollars. He did do a lot of commercial pandering, if one wishes to call it that, later on. I think he had gotten to enjoy a certain level of lifestyle, and wanted to sustain it. I don't begrudge him that, but a lot of that from that time, late in life, was Picasso imitating Picasso.
