Life imitates fiction ...

... 'Atlas Shrugged': From Fiction to Fact in 52 Years. (Hat tip, Dave Lull.)

Galt: "You want me to be Economic Dictator?"

Mr. Thompson: "Yes!"

"And you'll obey any order I give?"

"Implicitly!"

"Then start by abolishing all income taxes."

"Oh no!" screamed Mr. Thompson, leaping to his feet. "We couldn't do that . . . How would we pay government employees?"

"Fire your government employees."

"Oh, no!"

Abolishing the income tax. Now that really would be a genuine economic stimulus.

This crisis will prove that Americans are not sheep (unless we are).

There are over 3 hundred million of us. There are only 638 of them. (435 in the House; 200 in the Senate; and the Three Stooges, Paulson, Bernanke and Geithner.)

Actually, there are only 100 in the Senate. I think the entire political class in this country is largely bankrupt intellectually and morally. I'd like to see the whole lot of them kicked on to street, so we could elect a new batch. I certainly would like to see a huge nationwiide resistance to their works and pomps.
